Rona Smith

teacup

Rona Smith is an artist who works with installations, public art and sculptor. I am looking at her piece called ‘Teacup’,which is an image of evaporate tea in a teacup.  By leaving a cup of tea to evaporate naturally, Smith has been able to create a piece of art through time. No physical manipulation is used in this image and this creates interest to the fact this image is created through natural processess. It is stimulating that the intricate detail surfaced around the inside of the cup was due to evaporation. Decay is considered quite unappealing but in this tea cup we can see a bit of beauty in decay. The teacup has been positoned on a simple, white surface whith no distraction
